Seventy years ago there was a couple that lived in Fruita Colorado that owned a farm. Well one day they were be heading some of their chickens but something unordinary happened. They came to this chicken that didn’t want to die I guess!! Well what happened was this chicken, this one chicken was still alive after his head was off “mike” was his name. Thinking this chicken would’ve died they kept killing the rest of the chickens but when they were done “mike” was still just walking around.
It became a joke
Mr. Lloyd started betting his friends and family that he had a headless chicken that was still alive! He was getting a lot of beer and money off of this “headless chicken”. Who could possibly think a chicken would live headless for 18 months. People stated hearing about mike and going to see him.
R.I.P mike
It was 1945 when a headless chicken was amazing people. But the Olsen family moved to Arizona Lloyd said “this is where it died” in 1947. Now every June the little town of fruita Colorado celebrates this amazing animal known as “Mike the headless chicken”
