Depression in Teens

Depression in Teens
By Dennis Allen
Depression is a serious problem in our generation and it continues to grow. More than 20% of all teens and Americans will go through a depression stage in life. I myself have had and continue to have serious depression so I know what everyone is going through. But truth of the matter is that most people actually don’t know what’s happening, and honestly that just makes it worse. What really is the worst is that most teens take their lives over depression. Suicide is only a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
Most researchers honestly don’t know why or what is causing so much depression. It’s really a very tough question to answer. Most times teens develop depression from family stress or parents. Most teens worry about their family’s financial status and then school doesn’t help because it just adds stress. For me its school and grades as well as friendship. Another possible reason is friendship and why it’s so hard to actually make then. It has been proven that teens with disabilities most times experience depression a lot more. Depression can cause many complications in life and especially at such a young age nobody knows what to do so it seems as if suicide is the only way out.
Nobody notices but maybe it’s the way our generation was and is being manufactured. Were all taught in school to sit in neat little rows, raise our hands, walk in strait lines, obey the rules, listen to the teachers, make our work the same, have the same project. Nothing has changed since the beginning of time. If you look at a car from 1865 and a car from 20013, it’s going to be different because it’s evolved. Our education and lives have never evolved. That because we’re the generations that supposed to clean up the mess. We’re the generation that’s supposed to sit at a desk for the rest of our lives and type away. We’re the generation that’s supposed package boxes and work in factories. We are the generation that is meant to be the future. This isn’t ok. What are we supposed to do with all of this? How are we supposed to fix the world? We’re just kids.
Parents had life great back in their time. I wish I was actually taught in the real world. My generation has been shielded from the horrors of life with electronics propaganda and fake news.
Some people believe that’s it’s the way teens in our generation are manufactured. Almost all teens are in their phones and have life covered for them by their parents. All kids are spoiled, that’s why when something bad happens it impacts them largely and they become depressed. Our generation is dying and it’s sad. Nobody knows the real world and that’s why when it hits it’s hard. Most teens don’t look for the positive and they think this is how life is permanently going to be so instead they take their own to escape the pain. This needs to stop. Only 30% of depressed teens are getting help. That number needs to go up and the number of teen deaths need to go down.
Sometimes just talking to someone helps the most. It’s not always family or school, everyone has their own reasons. Overall just talk it out and try and fix the problem. Be happy, everything is going to be alright.
