The marvelous Mrs.Mabley!

Throughout my past two years at Fruita 8/9 i’ve had a fair amount of teachers, but one always caught my eye. She is caring, smart, fun, and always able to make even the most boring sport something to smile about. So I thought let’s get to know Mrs.Mabley a little deeper.

On January 5th in Fort Dodge, IA , Stephanie M Mabley was brought into this world. She was raised in Gypsum Co. She has one sibling, that is her sister. When asked if she was an athletic person growing up Mrs.Mabley had a straight answer, Yes! Mrs. Mabley was very much an athletic person growing up and enjoyed playing in the river and building forts on her free time. As a kid her dream job was to be a PE teacher. We all sees how good she is at following her dreams. 🙂 But it was always a childhood dream of hers to do gymnastics professionally.

Growing up Mrs.Mabley’s favorite class was PE (not much of a shock), and her favorite teacher was Mr.Ramunno. Throughout high school Mrs.Mabley participated in track and basketball, pretty active sports. During high school Mrs.Mabley’s only plans for after school was to go to college. Which she later did, In college she played softball, and volleyball. she went to college for radiology, she was a semester from graduating when she realized that radiology just wasn’t what she wanted to pursue, and she took a different path. And boy we couldn’t be happier!

In her adult life Mrs.Mabley has a family and works as a PE teacher at Fruita 8/9 in Fruita colorado. She is married and has one son named Lane who is 2 years old. Mrs.Mabley has been teaching PE for 15 years. Her favorite sport we play in PE throughout a semester is nitro ball, in other words volleyball with a twist.  Her favorite part of working with kids age at this age is the relationships, and whos favorite part wouldn’t that be.  She states she doesn’t know of any hidden talents but im positive she has them she just hasn’t discovered them yet. Her favorite color is blue (which is something we have in common) and she couldn’t think of a better mascot to show our school pride and fierce sports teams. Go Wildcats!

Through this interview i’ve learned many new things about Mrs.Mabey and i’m glad i got the chance to get to know such an amazing teacher in such a fun way. I’m excited to see what the rest of this semester in PE holds for me but im sure Mrs.Mabley will make it unique and fun. Over all Mrs.Mabley is an amazing person and an even better teacher. She’s athletic and bubbly making everything fun and different. She’s such a real and genuine person who’s always willing to help anyone in need. Mrs.Mabley helps even the most stubborn of people to find something that will spark an interest in physical education. Thank you Mrs.Mabley for being so great!
