Mrs.Lacount

In the Fruita 8 9 we walk past a teacher named Mrs. Lacount. At first glance you see an average teacher. That cliche nice teacher but Lacount is the nice teacher but without the cliche. Like everyone else she has a story a past and present. Today on November 29 2018 I stepped into her room for a quick interview and the first thing I noticed was the room was surprisingly productive based on other rooms you would normally see in a room full of freshmen. Now her story begins.

First as always you always you start life as a child her favorite childhood memory she couldn’t because she was always a happy child, so I asked the first memory that came first which was surprisingly, her “falling off a semi truck throwing hay”. Her favorite hobby was just playing outside since she lived at a farm but she never spent a day inside. She grew up in Fruita and wanted to be a psychologist

In her teen years she went to Fruita high school her favorite memory is speaking to a freshmen class for the first time witch would inspire her to become a teacher and since she is a English teacher she said honors English.

Now a teacher she feels that being a teacher is worth it even though the check isn’t a big enough check it’s still worth it as she changes the life of hundreds. She has a previous job of being a nurse so if she couldn’t teach English she would love to do biology. She teaches at the 8 9 because the staff cares about kids. She has taught at the palisade high school and the Fruita monument high school. Her dream vacation is anywhere with her kids.

The point is that anyone can mean anything to you as a teacher can change your life with only one year or less. Depending on how much you pay attention in your class.
