Lebron James vs. Michael Jordan

There’s a lot of speculation surrounding the always interesting topic. Lebron or Michael? They are both, undeniably, two of the best to ever play and certainly the best of their generations. A few certain aspects of a basketball player are the difference between being good and being great. Michael is arguably the most clutch player of all time. If you don’t know what clutch means, it’s the ability to make a big play when your team needs it most, when time is ticking away. Jordan has been able to make the best of this scenario countless times. He has made a total of twenty five game winning shots, including eight at the buzzer. One of his greatest coming against the Jazz as he rose above the defender to flush the jump shot, winning the game for the bulls at the biggest stage, NBA finals. “12 seconds…11…10. Jordan, Jordan, a drive, hangs…fires…SCORES! HE SCORES!” were the words of Bob Costas at the scene of the crime. Lebron has also proven to be exceptional with the game on the line. “Lebron James is now measurably as clutch as Michael Jordan,” said SB Nation. He has now tied Michael’s number of postseason buzzer beaters with three. He is over 50% shooting with five seconds or less on the clock and a possibility to take the lead. He is 6/10. Most players can’t even shoot 50% period. Let alone in the toughest moment, with all the pressure on. Lebron is 60%. Now let’s see how they match up on the stat sheet. Michael’s offensive career stats include a points per game average of 30.1 and assist per game at 5.3. His best defensive stats were rebounds per game 6.2, .83 blocks per game, and recorded 2.35 steals per game. Now, let’s take a look at Lebron. He averages 27.3 points per game, 6.9 assists, 0.8 blocks, 7.2 rebounds and 1.7 steals. These stats show how well rounded these players are. Michael wins in points, steals and blocks, but Lebron leads in rebounds and assists. They were able to achieve a lot in their careers. Jordan’s resigme includes, 6 NBA championships, 6 finals MVP awards, 5 time NBA MVP and 13 time NBA all-star along with many other records and achievements. On the other hand, Lebron has won 2 finals, 2 finals MVP awards, 4 league MVP awards, and played in 11 all-star games. Now that you’ve read this it’s time to make your decision. You’ve got the ball with five seconds left when you see Lebron at the high post, calling for the ball and Jordan, open, at the three point line. Who do you pass it to?
