Albany mens lacrosse history

The history of Albany men’s lacrosse starting back in 1970. Albany in one of my favorite collage lacrosse teams I don’t know why but it always has been.

The Albany lacrosse team started back in 1970 and had a record of 3/7 in division 3. In 2000 Albany began play in the America East at the Division 1. Even though the Great Danes finished with a 3–8 record in 2001, they compiled an 8–6 regular season to take the regular season conference championship in the America East in 2002. They would reach the championship game but lose to the Stony Brook Seawolves 8–6.

In 2013 Albany added Blaze Riorden to their team now blaze is one of the best goalies he plays for chaos in the pll. His best game with Albany was 20 saves. Blaze is a goalie I personally look up too and hope to be like him one day.

Much of the Great Danes success in 2013 was centered on one family. Miles Thompson, Ty Thompson and Lyle Thompson also known as the Thompson Trio these three are amazing at what they do. All of them play in the pll too. They are most of why they were so good in 2013

In 2018 Albany won the title this was the most recent win they had
