The Life of Ms. Elise Prinster

Elise Printser is a Eighth and Ninth  grade English and English elective teacher. She teaches Honors and regular Eighth grade English,  Ninth grade Journalism, and will teach Ninth grade Speech in the Spring. She lives in Fruita, is married to her wonderful husband Dan, and has two adult daughters and a dog.

Printser’s mother gave birth to her while she was visiting Printser’s father who was deployed as a dentist for the U. S. Air Force in the Philipsten Islands. She is now a dual citizen of the United States and the Philipstens. She has not to been back since she left she was two.

She has a sister, Nikki who teaches kindergarten in San Diego and a brother who works for an airplane company in Oklahoma. When she was asked if she always wanted to to be a teacher she said “No—when I was younger I thought I wanted to be a television journalist and that’s what I did for 5 years. Although it was exciting, I didn’t feel like I was helping people. It wasn’t until I began helping students in my own children’s classrooms that I knew I wanted to help students and become a teacher.”.

She went to Estancia High School in Costa Mesa, California and loved every bit of school—She was  involved in two sports, track and tennis, and in almost every club. She was co-editor of her yearbook and President of the Girls’ League and director of activities on her Student Governing Body. She managed to fit in homework somewhere…but  loved high school. College was okay  but she had 19 units my last semester at San Diego State, plus a job and  an internship at the local TV station. It was a busy semester for her!

She has many interests outside of school including Ballroom Dance, Tennis, Reading, Skiing, and camping with family.

She is married to her husband, Dan for 30 years and has three grown children, Margo, Matt, and Marygrace. They have one dog named Watson—he’s a mutt from the rescue shelter and they love him.

She says her favorite part of teaching is when students make connections and learn about themselves. She loves working with the students–they are fun and keep her young at heart.
