Elyza Willms

This interview is one of the many you will see/read as you go through our school’s blog. This interview is about our librarian, Elyza Willms, here you will learn about her childhood, highschool/College years, and things currently happening in the present time. So without further ado, let’s begin.

Childhood

Mrs.Willms actually didn’t like to read when she was a kid, she was more into doing sports like basketball and softball, she also would be traveling for her sports and family vacations so she would never really have the time to read. But when she started to read the Harry Potter series she fell in love with reading and started to enjoy reading other types of books outside of the Harry Potter series.

During Mrs.Willms time in school, their technology was not as advanced as our’s is today, meaning that school may have been harder or easier then today’s schoolwork and homework. Mrs.Willms also had strict parents as a kid so she may have not experienced all the things kids did at that point in time.

Highschool/College

High School and College are some of the hardest times that some of us will/are going through, even with our technology being as advanced as it is, and I’m sure it was even harder during Mrs. Willms time, Like the class that Mrs.Willms hated the most, which was AP American Government. Mrs.Willms also had a favorite class like every other student, her favorite being Science – Anatomy and Physiology project that was taught by a man named Mr.Fox. During this time Mrs.Willms had a boyfriend, not being the same man she marries, and wanted to be a Physical Therapist as her job before deciding to become a librarian for our school. She didn’t really care about what kind of college she could get into other than hoping it was safe and would take her in as a student.

Present time

Now these questions I asked her has to do with what she currently thinks of us and the pandemic that is happening. Her view of us, even though about all if not most of us act like we belong in an insane asylum, she really likes us as student’s of this school and that we’re just one of the many reasons why she loves her job and this school. Her view on the pandemic is just like a lot of ours, crazy, but she believes and hopes, just like most of us, that the pandemic will end soon. Her life at home is not as different, but she is going to be having a niece in the near future, along with her stepson and her daughter in law. The last question was how she felt about being picked as one of the first interviews for the school blog, and like many other teachers, she felt honored that she was picked out of all the other teachers that could have been picked.

And with all said and done, that brings us to the end of one of many more blogs to come, please go and read the other to blogs that belong to the students “Valerie Ewing and Daysia Britt.” I hope you all have a beautiful day.
