Mesa County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a man who was stabbed Sunday evening after an incident at a traffic light.

21-year-old Brandon Hopson has been arrested on multiple charges.The incident involved two vehicles and took place at the intersection of 32 Rd. and the I-70 Business Loop. Both cars were carrying multiple people.According to the Sheriff’s Office, Hopson exited one of the vehicles and approached the other car. Hopson allegedly began to physically assault a passenger in the car when the victim drew a knife and stabbed Hopson one time.Hopson returned to the car he was riding in and both cars drove off.Dispatch was called by the occupants of the vehicle that were physically assaulted and gave authorities a description of the other car. Deputies soon made contact with both vehicles.Hopson was taken to St. Mary’s for treatment of his wound; once he was medically cleared he was arrested on one count each of Harassment, Felony Menacing and 1st Degree Trespassing

You may feel you are safe where you live. But do you really? Every day there are at least 9 burglaries, at least 20 murders and at least one hundred suicides in a state. You need to be aware of what is going on in your world. Lock up your cars, homes, and personal belongings. Especially valuables. It is worth your money and time to install a home security system along with a safe for your valuables. Make sure you have a way to keep in contact with your friends and especially parents and relatives. Always have an emergency plan. Be warned of your surroundings. Don’t live in fear but be prepared!!
