Stanley Cup Playoffs

Every hockey player’s dream is to hoist the Stanley Cup in front of thousands of screaming fans. For ninety years the Stanley Cup has been awarded to the victor of the NHL playoffs, and here we are in 2012 fighting for the same trophy and honor once again.

The Boston Bruins are playing the Washington Capitals to defend their championship title. Currently Boston is leading their series 2-2 against the. The Capitols will have to struggle to pull a win out of this series; Boston has been hot this year in the regular season and they are well on their way to being known as a dynasty.

My pick for the Stanley Cup Finals is the New York Rangers vs. Los Angeles Kings. While Henrik Lundquivist is in net the Rangers are upright fantastic. He plays a super liberal style that he has made work to his team’s defensive weaknesses which give the Rangers an edge in every game they play. The Rangers are also armed and dangerous with deadly scorers like Ryan Callahan and Brian Boyle. Although the Kings occupy the last seed in the western conference they possess what is needed for a dark horse victory. They are currently beating the number one seed Vancouver Canucks in the series 3-1. Once again, like most hockey games, the outcome will be determined by how well the goaltender performs; and personally I think there isn’t anyone better for the job than Jonathan Quick who has been a solid brick wall in net. The Kings’ surprising success is partly due to their top scorer Dustin Brown already in the series he has registered five points in just 4four games. This year, no matter which teams areplaying  in the Finals, it will be an exciting series for everyone  to watch.
