Junior Seau

    Junior Seau was a Hall of Fame linebacker for the San Diego Chargers, Miami Dolphins, and New England Patriots. Junior Seau was found dead in his beach house on May 2, 2012. He was 43 years old when police report that he shot himself in the chest.

Taina Bell Seua Jr. was born on January 19, 1969.He was raised in San Diego, California his parents were both Samoan so he had his American, and Somoan ways. He attend Oceanside High School, and he lettered in basktball, track and field, and football as a tight end. He was named Avocado League Offensive MVP. Later in his senior year he took the Pirates to the Invitational Championship. He then attend USC(University of South California)as a linebacker.

During his freshman year of college he sat out because he scored a 690 o the SAT exam 10 away form the freshman mininum. Sports Illustrated called him “Dumb Jock” in a report. He lettered in his Sophmore and Junior year. He posted 189 sacks in his 1988 season and was selected to the All-American Team.In 1990 He was drafted in the first round his Junior year.

His professional career started with the San Diego Chargers. He was named the “Tasmanian Devil”. He played 15 of 16 games and recorded 85 tackles and 7 sacks. He was picked for the 1992 Pro Bowl. The year of 1994 was Seaus first Super Bowl. That game he set a record 16 tackles in one game. Later after 12 seasons with the Chargers he was traded to the Miami Dolphin. He played 8 games with them and had 68 tackles and 4 sacks. Then he torn his pectoral muscle and was out for the rest of the season. The next season he tore his achilles and was released on March 6, 2006.

Seau announced over press conference that he was going to retire, but a year later he was back.

Seau was picked up by the New England Patriots on May 21,2007. He was named a team captain, and played 10 of 11 games before breaking his arm. Seau was a part of the 2008 undefeated season with the Patriots. The Super Bowl was the only loss that the Patriots had. Seau played for two more years with the Patriots, and then he announced his second retirement.

Suea was serious about this one he retired on January 13, 2010.

Seau was found died on May 2, 2012. The police got a 911 call from Junior Seaus girlfriend soon after his suicide. The police investigated a found no suicide not at the scene. A couple things could have happened the police said, but the narrowed it down to a suicide. Seas mother was devastated and on national T.V. stated “take me with him”. Junior Seaus number was then retired for the San Diego Chargers. Number 55 will always be remembered in the NFL.
