Students Taking a Foreign Language

Learning a foreign language can be very helpful for students’ lives after they have graduated. That’s why I think that students should take a foreign language.

Alyssa Gilbert from Bonneville High School agrees that taking a foreign language is a very good idea. She was taking Spanish to “get into college and it helps get a good job.” If students take a foreign language it will help them understand different cultures and can possibly help them later in life. Also, if a student already knows some parts of a different language, they can become more fluent. Sure, you might have wasted your time if you didn’t learn anything, but who wouldn’t want to have a chance to learn a new language? Also, most colleges require at least two years of a foreign language to even be admitted and high school is the perfect time to learn. For example, Stanford requires at least three years of a foreign language and Princeton requires four years.

In conclusion, taking a foreign language is a great idea. It can open doors to new opportunities and lead them farther in life.
