Concussions In Sports.

What is a concussion? Well a concussion is a brain injury, and there are different severity levels. For example there are mild and server concussions. It’s not rocket science to explain how you get a concussion, but you can get it a lot of ways and the most common is from sports. Getting a concussion is very serious. Most schools will not let you play until you have a note from your doctor telling you that you are cleared. Everyone one thinks that the most common sport to get a concussion from is football, but that is not true.  Soccer is the most common sport to get concussion in. Soccer is the most common because of hitting the ball with your head. Soccer coaches are trying to teach young soccer players to not hit the ball with their head to prevent getting a concussion. Each year, U.S. emergency departments treat an estimated 173,285 kids for concussions. More and more schools are making kids do the concussion test. A lot of kids think it’s a waste of time taking the test, but honestly it’s the smart thing to do and we need to keep doing it.
