It seems like every game the University of Oregon wears a new uniform. The Oregon Ducks football team has 384 different uniform combinations since 2009. Nike co-founder Phil Knight ran in the University of Oregon Track & Field program under the other Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman.
Nike has maintained a close relationship with Oregon University ever since, manufacturing all university logo clothing and uniforms for the football team, including research prototypes for high-tech “smart clothes,’’ such as jerseys with cooling systems. Nike also made a $41 million donation in November for the construction of a new football facility.
The football program began in 1893 and played its first game on February 22, 1894, defeating Albany College 46-0. The team competes at the division 1 level of NCAA football. Oregon football team is known for their unique uniform styles in recent years, consisting of multiple color combinations of crazy helmets and uniforms resulting in a new uniform each game they play.
