Disney Charater Popularity

When you think of the most popular Disney characters today, who do you think of? Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy? All of these come to mind, but today the top three most popular Disney characters today are Simba from the Lion King, Bell from Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin from Aladdin.

Simba is first shown to us in the motion picture the Lion King, he starts out as a young cub of the great pride king Mufasa, but his life is rapidly changed when his villainous uncle Scar, kills his father and blames the murder on Simba. Simba ran away where he met his two best friends’ Timone, a Meer cat and Pumba, a wild boar. They teach Simba the importance of hakunna matata which means no worries. Simba is a courageous young lion and that is why he is the most popular Disney character.

Belle is one of the main characters in the Disney movie Beauty and the Beast. Belle is an intelligent young lady that is very beautiful and loves her father Maurice, an inventor, but he is also the laughing stoke of the town. When Belle’s father is captured by the “beast” Belle trades herself for her father. Belle is highly praised by young girls today and critics that fall in love with her intelligence, bravery, and love for her father.

Lastly but defiantly not the least, is Aladdin a young 18 year old boy that is called street rat. He was abandoned by his parents as a young child, he met his best friend Abu when he ran away with the circus at the age of twelve. Once Aladdin turned 18 he was a “robin hood” type of guy. He then met the beautiful Princess Jasmine, and they instantly fell in love. When Jasmine was captured by the evil mastermind Jafar, Aladdin did everything in his power to rescue her. Aladdin was described as a clever good hearted teenager.

These Disney characters are all completely different, but they all have one common trait. They all have a great amount of courage and will do anything for someone they love. They a great role models to the children today because they teacher them the importance of friendship and the meaning of loving someone with all their heart.
