Richest Man Alive.

The richest person alive is Bill Gates. Bill Gates is worth 72.7 billion dollars and his annual salary is one million dollars. The reason he is so rich is because he is the chairman of Microsoft and everyone uses Microsoft, in fact I am using Microsoft right now to write this essay. Bill Gates graduated from Lakeside School in 1973, scoring 1590 out of 1600 on the SAT, and enrolled at Harvard College in the autumn of 1973. Bill Gates is so rich that it is ridiculous. He has enough money for his grandchildren’s children to not have to work for the rest of their lives.

Bill Gates has a house that is located in Medina, Washington and is over 66,000 square feet and overlooks Lake Washington. Most of his house in underground so it doesn’t look as big as it really is. In 2009, the property taxes cost Bill Gates $1 million a year, with the total house value of $148 million. Bill Gates has also spent $14 million buying surrounding property. He bought the original lot in 1998 and contraction took over seven years. Bill Gates house has all kinds of automation, with over 52 miles of optic cables. Family members and visitors are set up with a microchip tag that can control setting for each room they walk into, (controlling lighting, heating, music and even your preference of art on digital displays.) Every single room has their own touch-pad to control everything in the room. He also has a very high tech security system in his house so if anybody tries to break in then they will not get caught. He has cameras and floor sensors everywhere. Every single door handle in that house is specially made and they cost a little over 2,000 dollars each. Some of the interior passageway doors weigh over 800 lbs, but are balanced for easy opening. Bill Gates has several interesting areas to his home. He has a domed library, which has two secret bookcases, with one hiding a bar. Leonardo da Vinci’s Codex Leicester is on display, which Gates paid $31 million for in 1994.

Bill Gates loved to learn about software and computers and by the age of thirteen he began programming computers. When Bill gates when the Harvard he met the chief executive officer of Microsoft Steve Ballmer. While he was still in Harvard he wrote a version of the programming language BASIC for the MITS Altair microcomputer. When Bill was a teenager he and Paul Allen had a small company call Traf-O-Data and sold a computer to Seattle that could count the city traffic. Bill Gates left Harvard to form Microsoft with his childhood friend Paul Allen. They both planned to develop software for the newly emerging personal computer market. Bill Gate’s company Microsoft became famous for their computer operating systems and business deals. Bill Gates talked IBM into letting Microsoft retain the licensing rights to MS-DOS an operating system that IBM needed for their new personal computer. Gates proceeded to make a fortune from the licensing of MS-DOS.
