Mr. Golba was born in Karney, Nebraska, a small farming town. So how did he end up as an 8th and 9th grade art teacher in Fruita? He went to school in a 3 room school house with 5 kids in his class ages 9-14. All through school Golba was fascinated by the arts. He’s been in a variety of bands, and is obviously involved teaching art. That’s why he went to Adams State University, in Alamosa, to get his masters teaching art to kids. He also ran cross country while he was in school. He continued with his dreams of becoming a rock star until he decided to move with his wife Terry who he had met at Adams State.
Not long after they moved to the beautiful town of Fruita Colorado. They then had 2 kids a boy and then a girl. He found work here as a counselor. He really enjoyed helping kids and did so for 22 years. After a while he decided it was time for a change and a when a job opened up as the 8/9 school art teacher he quickly took it. He loves teaching art to other people because it’s his passion and he enjoys helping kids discover their potential.
