Block buster Trade

The Biggest Trade in the NBA Off season

There was a blockbuster trade that happened this season that none of us fans saw coming. We all knew that Kyrie Irving wanted to be traded from the Cavs but there were no reports on teams that were interested but then all of a sudden there reports that the Suns and the Celtics were interested in Kyrie but no trade happened. We a lot thought that LeBron and Kyrie were going to play another season together then a trade happen to the Celtics.

The biggest trade of the offseason was Kyrie to the Celtics. This was a big trade that could make a big difference in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics and the Cavs meet in the Eastern Conference Finals which had the Cavs winning in 5 games (4-1) which they would go on to lose to the stacked Golden State Warriors. Kyrie was a big part of the Cavs success in the 3 years that he and LeBron were together. They were a dominate 2 headed monster in Cleveland. The Celtics took the number one seed in the East last year but they were no challenge for the Cavs in the Finals. With this trade and the big signing of Gordon Hayward the Celtics can compete this year.” Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and the Nets’ 2018 unprotected first-round pick” (Sports Illustrated). I think that the Boston Celtics got robbed. The Cavs won this trade because they got a really good player and a good role player in Jae Crowder and a really good draft pick (Nets pick).

This trade might have not effected the East but it affects the Cavs I think because Kyrie was their closer man, their go to man at the end of games. Game 7 against the Warriors in the finals Kyrie hit the game winner. To some analyst Kyrie and Isiah are the same player, but I think that Kyrie is more clutch and he can pass and doesn’t want to the ball in his hands every play. The one thing that Kyrie has over Isiah is experience. Kyrie has been to three straight finals and has played against probably the best PG Steph Curry. Kyrie has shut Curry into an average PG in some of the games. Another thing that Kyrie has over Isiah is size. Kyrie is 6`3“ and Isiah is 5`9“. Isiah is a big defensive threat. The East hasn’t change that much but it does effect the whole conference.
