A lot of debating goes on when it comes to Jordan Vs LeBron. MJ was LeBron James idol when he was younger but there are now conversations on whether LeBron is better than Michael. Michael won 6 championships in an era of Bird, Magic, Barkley, Thomas and the bad boys. LeBron has had one big test in his entire career. Golden State, now don’t get me wrong they are good but that’s a super team there were no super teams in the 90’s. Jordan had very little superstar help and LeBron has had Dwayne wade, KI, Love, Bosh and more. Physical play is another one there was no hand checks in the 90’s there was jersey grabbing and elbows and fists flying now we shall get into the stats.
In the playoffs Jordan would average 33.4 ppg and LeBron only has had 28.4. Jordan won three straight NBA finals from 91-93. James has won 2 back to back with the heat. Jordan would later win three straight more after leaving to play some baseball, those three would also be three straight. Jordan was 6-0 all time in the finals and LeBron is currently 3-4. LeBron like Jordan has his own shoe brand but which shoe has been around longer? Jordans, which shoe was the biggest hit when it came out? Jordans of course LeBron’s shoes are the most worn shoes by any active player but Jordan’s shoes are still the most bought shoe made by Nike.
Now let’s talk about the teams and what type of teams played in the 90’s compared to today’s team. So in 1991 the year Jordan won his first NBA title he played… The Detroit piston bad boys, The LA Lakers a team they played in the finals to win the whole thing they also played teams that consisted of players such as Larry Bird and the Celtics and the Utah Jazz that had John Stockton and the Houston Rockets who had Hakeem Olajuwon and the Portland Trailblazers who were the top seed and were beat by the LA Lakers who Jordan would beat to win the 91 NBA title. Now we are going to talk about LeBron’s first championship team the Miami Heat and compared the teams to the 91 season. LeBron had to deal with the Celtics that had a big three just like the heat did the heat had LeBron, D-Wade, and Chris Bosh, and the Celtics had Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Rajon Rondo. The Heat won the east beating the Celtics in game 7 and then turned around and beat the Thunder who had KD and Russel Westbrook so not as tough of a road for the Heat.
Now the biggest thing that separates Jordan from LeBron. The way the game was played. Jersey grabbing, players hitting the ground, fights and a whole Lota smack talk. Now a days you have hand checks and flops and tripping and no touching the other jersey and no smack talk unless it’s on social media.
6 time champ vs a 3 time champ. 4 time gold medalist vs 3 time gold medalist. Jordan Vs LeBron who was better? Well I guess my final question is who do you think is better ?
