JDM cars V.S. ADM cars

Japanese domestic market cars v.s American Domestic Market cars

By: Connor Williams

American domestic market cars are better than Japanese domestic cars because they make more power and are bigger overall.

Japan has different driving regulations opposed to the USA. In Japan they drive on the right hand side of the car and they also drive on the left hand side of the road. They also have different road signs. In some ways ADM cars are better too. They are faster and have more power as opposed to Jdm cars. This is because a law was passed in Japan that regulated the amount of horsepower a car can come with from the factory, the limit was 280 because that’s enough to get around towns and cities but not enough to race other people with.

There are some notable engines with both types of cars. Some good engines from both areas are the 2jz (JDM) which is a 3.0L inline 6 engine created from 1991 to 2002 which pushes about 320 hp. Another engine is all the LS series engines (ADM) , these are Chevy American V8’s that have insane tuning potential. These engines can handle anywhere south of 1000 hp. There are around 40 different flavors of LS engines ranging from 255 hp to 655 hp beasts of engines.

There have been a ton of cars with these engines that can push over 1000 hp, some even push north or 2000hp, But these engines are also really reliable and good for everyday use too. For example the LS 500h has around 25 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway,

and the 2jz isn’t as great as the LS engines for mpg but it does get around 18 mpg on average.

Both cars have there up sides but I think that ADM cars are better because they are bigger and are faster in general stock.
