Who do you believe, Johnny Depp or Amber Heard? Johnny Depp and Amber divorced in 2016 but they have continued to battle in court because of the message of “Surviving Domestic Violence” that Amber heard sent to The Washington post in 2018. Depp is suing Amber Heard for $50 million in damages for his reputation and denies ever being physically violent with Amber Heard, But Johnny Depp says that Amber Heard has been physically violent with himself, but Amber heard claims that the only time she has ever been violent with Johnny Depp has been self defense. This case has become very popular on social media and people on social media have been finding evidence supporting Johnny Depp, like videos and photos of him with bruises or black eyes and all else they can find to help out johnny depp in this case trial.
This relationship started in 2009 when Johnny Depp and Amber Heard met during the film of “The Rum Diary,” where they both played important parts in the film. In 2012 Johnny Depp and Amber Heard began dating, according to court documents from Heard, but in the same year Johnny Depp and his long term partner Vanessa Paradis ended their 14-year relationship. And in 2014 Johnny Depp confirmed the engagement with Amber Heard.
In may of 2016 Amber Heard filed for a divorce and was granted a temporary restraining order against him. In this time Amber Heard starts accusing him of throwing a phone at her and leaving her a bruise, The court then rejected Heard request of a year of anger management classes for Johnny Depp. The court then also denied the “Attack” of Amber and did not press charges against Johnny Depp. In 2017 the couple’s divorce was finalized.
In 2018 Amber heard stories about surviving physical abuse and sent it to The Washington Post, but Johnny Depp’s name was not mentioned in the story. In 2019 Depp sued $50 million from Amber Heard for the article for defamation, claiming the post was a lie and excuse for Amber to get positive press on her name. Johnny also says that she was not the victim of domestic violence but instead the perpetrator. In 2020 Johnny Depp has audio evidence of Amber saying she did hit Johnny depp. Later in 2020 Johnny Depp sued the British Newspaper for calling him a “wife-beater”. Depp’s ex partner defends Depp saying “Johnny Depp is the furthest thing from a violent person”. In court Johnny Depp claims that Amber was having many affairs with actors like James Franco and business man Elon Musk. Johnny Depp then posts on instagram saying he was asked to exit the Fantastic beasts film because of the cases. In 2021 Amber sues Johnny Depp in return for $100 million.
On April 11th 2022 Amber Heard and Johnny Depp appeared in court for a three weeks long defamation trial. On april 19th Johnny Depp testifies against Amber Heard’s “Freedom of Speech” in the post from the Washington post. Attorneys for Johnny lay out evidence of Heards alleged abuse, while Amber Heard’s lawyers focus on Johnny Depp’s past abuse of drugs and alcohol use, text messages, and recordings, claiming Depp perpetrated the violence. The court confirms that Amber Heard was practicing her right for freedom of speech in the story she sent to the Washington Post. Amber Heard will start testifying May 4th. Everyone is turning to watch who will win and what will happen and these people have gotten their whole life published in articles and newspapers but I think we should just stay out of other people’s problems and let them decide who was in the wrong.
