Facebook Gets Connected with the Music World

The new music service will be revealed at Facebook’s F8 Developers Conference, which will be held on September 22, 2011. Facebook has already achieved the number one social network in the world; now they plan on giving itaccess to music. The music streaming will use third-party services instead of being created by Facebookalone.

Some reporters say that Spotify a German based music streaming program will be one of many to become part of Facebook’s music program. Other programs may include Rdio, and MOG. There are small whispers going around saying Facebook plans on going even further than music, for example one of the most popular movie rental companies, Netflix, could instantly stream movies through Facebook. So far we don’t know if Facebook will go beyond music.

GigaOm reported, this means Facebookers can click on a music board where they’ll see music notifications. The board will have info, such as what your friends have listened to, the tunes and bands/artists they recommend, and the top songs and albums among your friends. They are also supposed have a playback/pause button that will be added to your Facebook Page (like Facebook Connect, which users currently use to chat with friends). This button will allow you to play a song right on Facebook. If Facebook does decide to give us a music platform they will have left Myspace in the dust. We will have the bragging rights for music.
