The Masters 2012

The green jacket awarded to the winner of the PGA Masters Tournament is arguably the most prestigious trophy in sports. At Augusta National Golf Course when the final round ended on Sunday there was a tie for first place between Lois Oostuizen and Bubba Watson. In the second hole of the sudden death playoff, Watson pulled off a near impossible shot from the woods to take the hole. His opponent Oostuizen said that Bubba had “hit an unbelievable shot.” It was Bubba Watson’s first major tournament win in his professional career.

Bubba Watson is what some people call an unconventional golfer. He has never had a coach, or a formal lesson, plus he created and mastered his own unique swing style. Watson’s father had lost his battle with cancer in 2010, now he uses a signature pink driver to commemorate him. After a tap in par for the win, Bubba was rushed by friends and family and broke down to tears in the arms of his elated mother.
