Samsung has officially announced they are currently working on new technology that provides data transmission several hundred times faster than 4G. They announced Monday that they plan to “accelerate the research and development of 5G mobile communications technologies”. This means basically, they’re in the process of developing this new 5G technology. Consumers should plan of seeing this new step forward for smartphones, around the year 2020.
Claims have been made by the company that they have developed the “world’s first adaptive array transceiver, and is able to work in millimeter wave bands, that should hopefully fix transmitting data over long distances issues. This new core system is allegedly supposed to transmit this band at a frequency of around 30GHz (or gigahertz) to a speed of about 1.056Gbps (or gigabits per second). So this new millimeter band wave technology is a pretty significant step forward in terms of how fast your phone receives data.
According to Samsung, users would be able to send and receive ultra-high definition (UHD) content, and games without limitations, or any streaming issues. Research and development of new 5G technology has been moving at a fast pace. China has created a promotional group, who’s only concern is 5G research and development. European commission will invest up to 50 million Euros in an attempt to bring 5G technology to consumers by 2020.

5G technology, the next generation of mobile networks, is closer than it seems, and it is opening a wide range of possibilities with lots of potentials. It is 1000 times faster than the current 4G LTE technology In the digital era like now, real reality and virtual reality are increasingly merging to change human life. This week, lawmakers allowed Chinese-owned Huawei to build part of the infrastructure for Britain, namely the transition to the blazing-fast 5G mobile internet. Switching to 5G connectivity that is so low latency will not only impact mobile phones, but also homes, transport and workplace. Not to forget it also threatens the jobs of millions of people..
