I recently interviewed Mr. Newman a student teacher here at Fruita 8/9 and this is some feedback that I got from him. Mr. Newman was born here in Grand Junction and has lived here all of his life. When he was a child his dream was to become a Lego engineer. He started liking biology because he had a lot of interest in the outdoors and the way that life works. He knew he wanted to be a teacher when he was young because he thinks teaching is the most he can give to people.
Mr. Newman is now a student teacher for honors biology teacher Mrs. Blevins here at Fruita 8/9. He used to observe teachings at Bookcliff middle school and is a student at Colorado Mesa University. It is Mr. Newman’s first semester student teaching at Fruita 8/9.
After college Mr. Newman wants to move to a larger city, start a family, and he wants a teaching position. His favorite part of biology is evolution and adaption because it shows how animals can change in significant ways. He likes every class throughout the day.
