Media Final
In Mr. Deckers media class this semester I learned not only that Mr. Decker is the best teacher in the whole entire school (if not district), but also lots of new things. I learned how to use several software’s and how to make them look and or sound good. With this class I will be able to do things in the future that I wouldn’t have been able to do before. I think this class actually matters for students in their future carriers unlike US history or Geo physical science.
One of the projects I did and learned how to use in this class was Adobe Photoshop. In this app you can take a normal boring picture and create a masterpiece. This gives you the tools to change colors, size, font, and many other modifications. I used this thing twice this semester. On the first time I made a lacrosse picture to put on the announcements. I took a picture of two lacrosse sticks crossed and took another picture that represented the wildcat. Using Photoshop allowed me to combine these two pictures and out the wildcat logo on top of the lacrosse sticks. Without having Adobe Photoshop I would not have been able to create a cool picture like that one.
I also did the announcements, out of all the things I did this semester this one was by far my favorite. This was my favorite because I not only was it really fun it also taught me how to burn a disk and make 1 video camera be able to broadcast through the whole school and on the schools website. Using video pad I could make transitions, add music, change colors, and many other things. For the 4 weeks that Jacob and I did the announcements I got asked for my autograph a total of three times. This made me very happy because I felt famous. This also allowed the whole entire school to know who Jacob and I where, or at least our names. I will be able to use video pad in the future to create and edit a lacrosse video to send out to colleges. Without video pad it wouldn’t look professional and colleges would not be interested.
The last thing I did was commercials. In this module Jacob and I made commercials about respect ownership achievement and responsibility. Doing these things I learned about our schools ROAR thing a lot more in detail. In the future I will use this because it taught me how to work with another person and get something done within the deadline.
In conclusion I think this class will really help me in the future. It taught me lots of things but the most important things was learning how to work with others, making videos, and going in detail about our schools ROAR policy. And I also learned that Mr. Decker is the best teacher in the whole entire school and if I did not have him as a teacher I would not be the same student that I am today.
