Mr. Gregg

greggSome teachers really fit well into a school environment, developing great relationships and connections with both students and other staff.  At the Fruita 8/9 school, Mr. Gregg is a staff member who is regarded as a really cool person and teacher.  Mr. Gregg was born in Darby, Pennsylvania, however he grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts.  When he was growing up, Mr. Gregg had one sister, Erin.  Mr. Gregg’s greatest childhood memory was going to Cape Cod with his family, and spending time at the beach and fishing. Mr. Gregg went to elementary school at May Street Elementary, and his favorite grade was sixth grade.  As a kid, Mr. Gregg enjoyed playing sports such as baseball and hockey.  After May Street, Mr. Gregg attended junior high at Chandler Middle School, and his favorite subjects were math and science.  Growing up, Mr. Gregg wanted to be a professional hockey player when he grew up.

Mr. Gregg went to high school at Doherty Memorial High School.  During his high school years, Mr. Gregg enjoyed math and science more than any other subject, which prepared him for his future career of being a science teacher.  Mr. Gregg’s favorite high school memory was spending time with his friends and just enjoying all the options and freedoms that are presented to a high school student.  Mr. Gregg graduated from Doherty Memorial High School in 1989, and then began the next chapter of his life at Colorado State University.  While going to school at CSU, Mr. Gregg majored in geology, and he maintained a job at a local auto part store.  He graduated from CSU in 2000.

Mr. Gregg came to teach at the Fruita 8/9 school the first year it was open which was 2006.  Mr. Gregg chose to teach at Fruita 8/9 because his family was living in Fruita and this school was close to his home.  Mr. Gregg teaches both Geophysical and AP Environmental Science at Fruita for both 8th and 9th graders.  Mr. Gregg’s favorite thing about Fruita 8/9 is that this school has a great group of kids, and awesome teachers, which makes a positive school atmosphere and an amazing community.  Mr. Gregg is a great addition to the Fruita 8/9 staff because of his positive attitude, teaching skills, and personality.
