arts the next world war. This holiday season starbucks has the red cup. Many people see the red cup as an offence to the holiday. But how can a cup say this much?
according to Starbucks within 48 hours of the cup coming out in last year, ever 14 seconds there was a photo of the cup posted on instagram. However this year the cup has not gotten the same treatment. Maby it’s the fact that they did not do the design. How ever many say that because it is sold red it is trying to destroy christmas. Alex Abad-Santos said it best “To some, the naked red cup, unadorned with symbols like holly or snowflakes, is an affront against the Christian faith, a cut against Christianity. For others, it’s a chance to beat their chests and scream about Christian and conservative stupidity into the faceless void of the internet.” So is this red cup just another stupid unimportant fight? Or is it actually even more important than the dress. However if this red cup is so outrageous why is it now just starting to be a problem? Is it just the fact that is solid red, that is does not have the design the hide the red? Because it was always there.
In conclusion this Starbucks cup war could very well be a part two to “the dress”. But in my opinion it simply does not matter if the cup is sold red. It shows no offence to me, the only thing it does is get me excited for the holidays. So I ask for all of mankind involved in this war to stop fighting. In the end it’s just a cup.
