Mr. Levan

We have a new teacher at our school! Michael Levan, or Mr. Levan currently teaches Global Studies and Colorada’ History at the Fruita 8/9. Some may be skeptic about new teachers, but Mr. Levan is pretty cool…. Except for the fact that he likes “slimy bacon” but we’ll talk about that later.

Mr. Levan grew up in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. He grew up with his childhood idol as his dad, and his idol is still his father (awww). He is a dog person, and he believes that dogs really are “man’s best friend”. After high school, he joined the Marine corps and served in Korea. His biggest regret is not staying with the Marine corps longer. Going back to his high school life, he admits that like every other teen, he has given into peer pressure at least once. Although, he says that he does not miss high school at all. Secretly, he felt like he wanted to teach in his younger years, but he put it on hold until recently, when he decided to start teaching in Fruita. Mr. Levan enjoys teaching here at the 8/9 and likes working with the kids. The best part of the day is seeing kids get inspired and seeing the positive energy that students have here.

When we asked Mr. Levan where he would like to travel, he says that the bold wilderness of Alaska is a grand choice, and is at the top of his travel list. The best music in his opinion is 80’s country. As we said earlier, Mr. Levan loves his bacon but he prefers it slimy, not crispy. It is a unique view on bacon, but he really is a great teacher. The students at the Fruita 8/9 are proud to welcome him as their teacher. Thank you Mr. Levan, and WILDCATS OUT!
