Mrs.LaCount

There are many great teachers at Fruita 8/9 teachers and one of them has been chosen to get interviewed and wrote about. So today, I am interviewing and writing about Mrs.LaCount who has been teaching highschoolers for for 15 years. She loves teaching the same lesson she was taught many years ago when she was in high school. She grew up on the farm, she always loved to work and the best part of it was when she got to see the results of it. Mrs. LaCount has been teaching almost all her life and she doesn’t plan on leaving anytime soon.

Mrs.LaCount is 36 and was born in 1983 and she grew up with an older sister named Autum who is a year older than her. She was born and raised on a farm in fruita and still does because of the small town atmosphere. As she grew up without electronics, she had to find other things to do such as build forts, play with animals, or just work on the farm in general. Her favorite memory that she has from when she was a kid was just playing on the farm because she was such a happy kid that loved almost everything. When she was a kid, she would go to Ft.Collins to visit her grandma who was a teacher. While she was with her grandma, everything seemed like an adventure to her. Overall Mrs.LaCount had one of the greatest childhoods a child could have.

Mrs. LaCount went to high school at Fruita Monument High school and it wasn’t the greatest part of her life and it also wasn’t the worst. Her favorite subject in high school was English and her least favorite was Spanish but she still took it because it looks good for college. During Freshman and Sophomore she didn’t care as much as she should have but once she got into junior she realized she had to get serious if she wanted to get into college. She got her driver’s license when she was 15 but she drove around the farm all the time before. Her first car was a blue Dodge Spirit which was pretty bad just like most other first cars. All through high school, she did yearbook club as an extracurricular activity but never anything else. When she graduated from high school, she went to college for a BS in teaching because it was a teacher that told her to become something she never imagined she could be. She taught until she went back to college for a masters in teaching. When she went to college, she decided to live with her parents instead of living in a dorm with some random person she’s never met before. She lived with her parents until she was 19 years old when she bought a 1200 sq ft house for herself, she bought it with money that was leftover from college. Her college degrees cost around 24 altogether and she never used a loan and is not in debt with it. Mrs LaCount worked full time to pursue her dream of being a teacher.

This summer during the summer she moved the whole time and still isn’t done yet.She is happily married to a man named Ryan and has been for 13 years. They have 2 kids; and 11 yr old girl and a 9 yr old boy and they mean everything to her. When she is with her kids she loves to do anything fun with her kids such as bananas, parks, etc. Every night she will read with her kids because she makes them get of the electronics in the evening. She would go back to college for a BS in psychology of history and try something new because she is to the point where learning no longer sucks but instead is fun.

Mrs.LaCount is one of the great teachers that teach English here at Fruita 8/9 and she loves to teach highschoolers what she once learned. She treats all her students fairly as if they were her own children. She is a highly intelligent woman who likes to teach one of the hardest subjects there are in high school so she deserves everybody’s utmost respect.
