Mr. Ray is a very chill and amazing teacher. For a little bit of background, Mr. Ray was born on May 10, 1995, in Carrollton, Ohio where he stayed until he was 9 years old. He then moved to Glenwood Springs. Where he graduated high school. He enjoyed living on a farm, with his parents and the rest of his family. Mr. Ray has a brother that is also a teacher and a younger sister in her senior year of high school. When it came to doing a variety of different sports, and playing video games Mr. Ray couldn’t turn it down. And he actually aspired to be a professional athlete, but it is clear now that life steered him in a new direction.
After graduating from Glenwood Springs high school Mr. Ray headed off to Colorado Mesa University. Initially, he wanted to be a physical therapist but after his first year in college, he decided to take the teacher route. Throughout his years in college, Mr. Ray found that his favorite thing was the days where he could spend his time playing video games before his classes. And finally, after going to school for 4 ½ years he earned his bachelor’s degree in English and Teaching. It’s also through student teaching at Fruita 8/9 that Mr. Ray found his job at this school.
After graduating from Colorado Mesa University Mr. Ray received a job here. He has now been teaching for five years and says that he enjoys working with students through their freshmen year but wishes school would start at 10 or 11, gotta agree with him on that one. Anyway, he teaches English, Film Studies, and Basketball currently and some things Mr. Ray enjoys outside of school include Hiking, Watching Movies, Playing Pickleball, Fly Fishing, and
Riding his Dirt Bike.
