Everyone enjoys lunch but have you ever taken a minute to get to know the people behind the counter? The lovely ladies who work there are Darla, Marlice, Jessie and Jamie. They all grew up with a fairly normal childhood. They share a close bond which lets them enjoy their job. The kids brighten their day and although you may only see them a few minutes a day they’re grateful to be here. They enjoy this bunch of students and admit we are fun to watch. But overall, they base their success on their amazing manager, Darla!
They all had a fairly good time in high school and it helped them make the decision to work for high school. Although they do admit they rather deal with us than elementary schoolers and their rambunctious attitudes. Growing up each of their parents had a great influence on them, in many ways like encouraging them, supporting them and giving them many opportunities. Even now their parents influence lingers on their day to day lives. They love being a wildcat. Not only because we provide a fun and interesting environment but also because they have such a close community among other staff.
Their close knit bond not only provides a fun work environment. But also a strong foundation of trust, communication and teamwork. And although they have such a great time together, Marlice, Jessie and Jamie appreciate all the hard work and time management put in from Darla. As we all know they help get the kids ready to continue their education by feeding them and getting their minds back on track. But they would not say which lunch wave is their favorite, I suspect it’s A. With such a great team they enjoy their work and don’t have much of a time crunch or lot’s of stress! They all agree that they really do enjoy their job and love seeing all the different kids! In fact, they say one reason they love this job so much is because of how respectful the kids are!
Outside of work, they all have their own families they have to look after but that doesn’t stop them from getting the occasional coffee together; and hanging out with each other on the side. This job brought them closer together and provided each other with amazing personalities, friends and a new community. Some of their hobbies include skiing, bicycling, hunting, camping, hiking and much more. And of course during the summer, like most people they hang out with their family, farm, go to the lake and just enjoy their life.
In conclusion, these incredible ladies are so amazing and love what they do. They have such a great and unique bond that they make such an incredible team. We as a Fruita 8/9 community owe them so much and we are so grateful to have such great staff! So, next time you get lunch remember to thank those behind the scenes, the ones who make it all possible!
