The Journey Of Ms.Martinez

Ms. Martinez has always been a small town girl starting since the day she was born in ogden Utah on June 27th 1997. But in contrast she grew up in Evanston, Wyoming with her two sisters and this is where she completed most of her younger years of school until when she moved to Fruita Colorado as a freshman. In school she was always involved with friends and activities growing up and found a love for her softball team and playing the violin but only after she was done using her huge personality to set the stage first in her school’s drama club.

While she loves her job here at the 8/9 Ms.Martinez had no original idea that she would ever become a teacher. She went to college right after highschool because that’s what her parents always encouraged her to do growing up. She had no idea what she wanted to do when she first got there except the fact that she really liked english class so she thought it was best to become an english literature major. Unfortunately she soon realized about half way through college that being a starving writer didn’t sound fun to her anymore and that she should find something she could enjoy more and would want to work towards. So that is what took her in the direction to become a teacher. She first did it for the money ironically which she says is super silly to say out loud because they really don’t make that much but then she student taught and fell in love with the idea of teaching kids. So in reality she has really only wanted to be a teacher for the last couple years and is really exceeding at it because her students love her.

She chose to work here at Fruita 8/9 because she fell in love with the environment the school brings and that she already had personal connections with some of her fellow staff members such Mrs.Lacount and Mrs.Willford because she had taken there classes in school growing up and personally to her that’s super cool because she is now able to work with her previous mentors. These personal connections help her feel extremely supported because this was kinda a tuff year with covid to be a first year teacher.

An overall summary that people and herself would think about Ms. Martinez is that she is a very caring empathetic person that you can very easily talk to about your emotions if needed because she notices them and understands them easily. That loves the bright color yellow along with the snack veggies and hummus
